Problem with radio? FIXED - radio fuse

So I started my car up today and noticed that FM radio after a few seconds gets very tinny sounding and staticky. For the first few seconds it seems normal and then it is VERY bad. AM radio seems unaffected.

The antenna seems fine so I am guessing it is some radio problem. I unplugged all my other electronics to make sure. Nothing else seems to have problems. Unless this is a quick fix I plan on brining it for warranty.

Another thing I noticed is if I hit a pothole like my incident last year the radio will completely restart. Probably unrelated though as this hasn't happened in a long while.

Have you checked your radio fuse to make sure it’s fully seated?

Sounds like your fuse needs to be checked. There is a recurring issue with the fuse not being pushed in all the way. It is enclosed in a yellow plastic surround in the cabin fuse box. Push it in firmly.

This thread has a pic of the yellow box (look @ post #5) they are talking about. It has a 10 & 15 amp fuse in it. Squeeze your hand in there & give the entire yellow box a firm shove. It may look/feel seated, but sometimes they are not. Doing this has corrected the problem of radio cutting out for several members.

No but.. tinny sound from my left front speaker, and also my volume knob on my basic ES stereo won't go up and down volume properly 1-45 or whatever, it will get stuck at 35 so can be embarrassing. Works ok besides the tin sound at high volumes, might have blown something as they say with the speaker. Lots of use in my car! Love music and baseball on the AM

The yellow box did not feel seated well. It pushed in a couple MM. No audio problems since.

That’s good news. We can update the first post with the fix.
