    Wifes got a mirage again

    https://www.carmax.com/car/19183257?adcode=EM_LG1

Picked this guy up right before Thanksgiving. I can say its not the best deal ever and we've got some thing we want fixed but, getting the se and manual in white all all the traits we wanted. Totally worth paying the extra for it.

Nice Mirage, Clessy. Touchscreen stereo with a CD player, and a manual transmission. Not a configuration you see spec'ed very often these days. And I'm not just talking about Mirages.

Your old lady can drive a manual? That's rare these days, hell it's rare for millenial males too.

Attached is the Monroney window sticker for that one. There's lots to like.

    Some Highlights:
    Fog lights
    Rear combination LED tail lights
    14-inch alloy wheels
    6-way adjustable driver's seat
    Automatic air condition climate control
    Micron air filtration
    Leather-wrapped steering wheel
Leather-wrapped shift knob with silver accent
Display Audio with Smartphone link, Apple CarPlay™, and Android Auto™
    Rear view camera system
AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with 4 speakers and USB port
Bluetooth® hands-free phone system with steering wheel mounted controls
    Steering wheel mounted cruise control
    Steering wheel mounted audio controls
FAST-Key passive entry system with panic alarm feature
    Push button start
    Hill Start Assist (HSA)
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and brake assist
    Active Stability Control (ASC)
    Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

This one is well equipped for a 2017 - Standard Transmission with cruise, display audio along with accompanying steering wheel controls, and Hill Start Assist. It's very similar to a top trim 2015 ES.

You'll have to tell us your thoughts on the Hill Start Assist with the standard transmission.

I thought the 2017 SE was the replacement for the 2014-15 ES, & the 2014-15 DE was replaced by the 2017 ES? I still don't understand why a top trim ES became a bottom trim ES in 2017? What is gained by the confusion?

Pryme had two of these 2017 SE manuals, which he used in his 3-part review on youtube.com.

You're right Mark. The SE replaced the nice ES models and the ES replaced the DE models. I've seen car companies do this crap all the time... the midlevel becomes the base model.

I put an LS badge on my DE off of a Diamante or something. Does that make it mo' betta?

I did some performance mods to it, so my logic was that it was "Less Slow"... or "Ludicrously Slow" or "Looks Stupid", depending on your perspective.

Of course the joke was the LS stood for "Line of Shame". When I was autocrossing it, whatever my best time was the guys took to calling "the line of shame". If you didn't beat the Mirage, you were below the line of shame. Because I'm pretty good at driving slow cars fast, I typically finished in the top 20-40%, a lot of folks never got past the line of shame!

But, the LS badge looks so stock that nobody ever noticed it... thus that joke fell flat.

Congrats on getting a fully loaded Mirage with a proper manual transmission!

Nice score. Don't worry about the price too much. I can honestly say a low-mile, one-owner, manual, white 2017 SE with a clean Carfax would be worth a significant premium to me if I were in the market.

My 2017 ES manual base model has HSA.

A few of the SE features listed are on the 2017 ES, too.
