Do you guys really want a mortgage rate thread?
I read this weekend that one major Canadian bank is now offering a sub-1% mortgage rate for the first time ever. No wonder house prices have gone crazy, even through the pandemic.

I have not received negative comments (that I’m aware). No kids or strangers pointing finger or making funny gestures either. Small compact cars are pretty common where I live, like Chevy Spark and Nissan Note. When I go to a more suburb area, then I start getting more bombarded with bigger “muscle” cars like trucks and full size SUVs. A couple of friends complimented that they liked the car (not sure if they were just being polite). When I took my car to get serviced last time, the mechanic randomly said he loved this car and it’s great on gas and comfortable (don’t know about the latter). I was pretty surprised he knew about the car. He said his brother has one and the brother loves it as well.
Actually, neither negative or positive, but 2 times I caught a stranger in the parking lot checking out my car with curiosity and interest. They both were older Asian males (I believe they’re Japanese). Different cities. One spent a good few minutes looking at it front to back.
I don't have a Mirage. Maybe I just run with a different caliber of people but I've received lots of positive remarks about the '16 Versa even though it has a rebuilt title. I bought it in Feb. '19 for $5300. with only 10K miles. I learned a long time ago not to pay much attention to snippy remarks about what I drive. I bought an '88 Ford Escort Pony in '93 for $500. it had 146K miles on it and didn't even have a radio. I used it for a work car often driving 100-200 miles a day to and from work on construction sites. I drove it until about '11 and retired it with 518K miles and was getting 40+ mpg. The only reason I retired it then was because I have chronic back pain and it needed more work done to it than I felt like undertaking and I wasn't paying someone $50-$100 an hour to work on a car with over a half million miles. As they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Yesterday I got:
"Is that a Honda Fit?"

You answered, "Why yes it is." Right?

I've gotten snippy remarks about my car before, I've also had one or two people say they said my Mirage is a good looking car. Is my car AWD. Is my Mitsubishi fast? You have to notice the details with it beyond first glance. They think it's a Fit or a Fiesta. Pick your small car. I parked next to an old first gen Echo the other day at Home Depot drive in pickup, and my Mirage does look similar. The front on my 14 looks like a Lancer. And then the back has a huge spoiler. So there is a lot going for a Mitsubishi Mirage. Mitsubishi hosts a PGA golf tour.

Last weekend a little old lady told me my car is a nice little car, and she learned to drive in a small car like that. Probably the first positive comment I have gotten.
