Thread: 2014 Mirage with 414,520 miles / 667,105 kilometers @ White Bear Mitsubishi, MN, USA

  1. #21
I was trying to find that story on whitebear's website earlier today but had no luck. I may be huffing too many fumes today but I swear they posted somewhere on their site something about they're looking for Mitsu owners who bought from them to give their story. If they use it in their advertising or in a commercial they'll give you a $500 off something or a free remote start. Now I see nothing.

From all I've read here, sure seems like a well run place! Almost makes me want to buy a car there!
Same here. "This Limited Warranty provides coverage in the United States, including its territories and possessions, and Canada only for failures due solely to the mechanical failure of a Covered Part."

I'd rather support a business that has a good reputation rather than the greasy flakes 5 mins away from me. I'd happily overpay just out of spite.

I am bit guilty of going overboard in my praise of White Bear, but my local experience was so negative. If I had gone by that experience alone, I don't think I would have bought a Mirage. Considering I was quite interested in a Mirage at the time, easily had the means to buy one, & visited the local dealership twice - I was never so turned off by a dealership before. Thus, I credit White Bear entirely for my Mirage ownership.

I don't mean to take away from the fact that the Mirage in this thread is 400,000+ miles vehicle that has only experienced some minor repairs. That's quite impressive!

Edit... HA! My favourite so far:

I'm a little skeptical about a JATCO CVT lasting 400k miles especially in a winter state doing delivery work. How many traditional Toyota Aisin transmissions last 400k miles? Something don't smell right.

"All we did was routine maintenance. We had to replace the wheel bearings sometime after 150,000 miles, and the starter motor was replaced at somewhere between 200,000 and 300,000 miles, but that was all covered under warranty. Otherwise, regular oil changes seemed to do the trick."

It would be odd to bring up wheel bearings/starter being replaced, & not mention something more serious like the transmission going out.

It would be interesting to know if White Bear did all their maintenance. If they did service this Mirage, I would want to know what White Bear recommends for CVT service.

If I owned a CVT Mirage, I would email their service manager and inquire about this (using the 414,000 mile Mirage as the talking point).

And just like that Steve and his "cheap plastic car" were dethroned.

    vaccine?

Someone at Mitsubishi needs a vaccine, because this story has gone VIRAL.

This might be the best Mirage coverage since the car was introduced over here.

MAN I've got a long way to go. My 2015 is only at 35k. Nice to see one make it to 400k.

I agree, this engine was the diesel version for the Smart fortwo, the reason I bought the Mirage after selling the fortwo. i googled "3a9"
