Thread: 2014 Mirage with 414,520 miles / 667,105 kilometers @ White Bear Mitsubishi, MN, USA

  1. #31
And here I thought one our fleet cars was gonna have the highest mileage after passing steves...Our highest mileage Mirage has almost 460,000km but had the cvt replaced at 300,000. The highest mileage Mirage with original drivetrain we have is only at 370,000km,at it's current use it'll take another 4 years to get up to 666,000kms...

I remember seeing a 1,000,000km Acura Tl parked outside a dealership a year ago. I found the story for it and though it had the original engine it went through 3 transmissions with the first dying at 240,000km.

As for this purple car having 666,000km on the original cvt? Anything is possible, drive beat the hell out of it constantly and it may be possible. I can't imagine a cvt replacement cover up story and hush money being paid to the owners. Maybe they had an early production 2014 with the super reliable cvt, that was later replaced with one that is prone to failure?

If they use it in their advertising or in a commercial they'll give you a $500 off something or a free remote start. Now I see nothing.
It's there - on their homepage click on "WHITE BEAR MITSUBELIEVER".

I couldn't resist running a CarFax report on this one. Amazingly...I can't find the CVT replacement in here anywhere.

DAMN! That's some TOP NOTCH maintenance records right there. That's dedication. But still, super neat to look at when it was serviced. Haha. Super awesome.

There is a good chunk of missing records from 62,000 -131,000miles though. According to the carfax either whitebear uses a different name when reporting service or this car has never been there til it was traded in? Maybe dirk is right????

Richard is not a small guy. After Richard told me that he fit in a Mirage, I went & found out for myself at my local dealership. How many owners or managers send you to another Mitsubishi dealership & tell you what important things to look for before buying a car from them? Any doubt I had about buying a Mirage he removed, & I appreciated that!

Well, even if the whole drivetrain was exchanged at 130kmile, then the current drivetrain still has 285kmile on the clock, and still running.

They were all over the place with the oil change intervals. Unless the owner did a few himself.

    Holy moley!

Oddly enough, this story hasn't been picked up by any of the regular automotive press I can find that always dump on the Mirage & Mitsubishi....

Hate it for it's performance sure, but there's a reason why these cars can get such insane odometer readings, because they're just so darn simple, even more so with the 5MT.

Someone should lob this story at Jalopnik
