Question Vibrations in Space Star / Mirage 2016 1.2

    Hey guys,

I have a bought a second hand Space Star 2016, with 1.2 engine (91K km). When examining the car, we noticed that it vibrates more than usual - the whole interior including the wheel shakes on N, and when I shift to D or R the shakes/vibrations increase.

I have been at the garage, and they replaced all three engine mounts. First they replaced the top one, which didn't help much, and then they replaced the two bottom one, claiming they were worn out. They used a replacement parts, and not OEM parts.

After replacing the engine mounts, the car shakes/vibrates even harder.

(Old bottom mounts, new top mount, and a video of the engine vibrating)

My question is, does the old mounts look worn?

And any idea how to solve this vibrations issue?

I am aware it is 3 cylinder car, but the vibration are stronger than usual.

Hello rng and welcome to the forum.

Check your exhaust hangers for a snug fit.

Forgive my brief response as I don’t have a lot of time on hand.

There are a few long winded threads about the exhaust hanger wearing out causing vibration. This is only applicable to cars the have the front cat converter integral to the exhaust manifold. We didn't get a 2016 my Mirage over here, just 2015 and 2017. The 2017 and newer have the problem. The exhaust hanger 2nd from the rear just ahead of the rh rear wheel will wear wear it slips onto the stud on the car. The cheap and fast fix is to slip the rubber hanger off the top mount and wrap it in tape, slide it back on.

Also make sure all the rubber mounts are still attached further up. I've seen them pop off after bottoming out the car.

For more info search exhaust rattle. Otherwise the only other thing that I can think of that'd cause noise is the aircleaner snorkle. A zip tie will shut it up.

I had some rattles on things in the engine bay the drove me crazy. I used insultation tube https://www.homedepot.com/s/INSULATION%2520TUBE?NCNI-5 because some what seemed like ac pipe and oil lines chattered off the metal in the engine bay. Super quiet now though.

Wheel balance and/or bent wheels. I've had two Mirages in my driveway. Both had bent steel wheels. They're a bit fragile.
    Simplify and add lightness.
