So my buddy went on the Prius hunt a few months back. He really liked the car but, the one thing he didnt like is the same thing anyone with eyes wouldnt like. The prius is just an absolutely ugly car. After looking at about 8 used ones he ended up looking at Prius C's instead just because they were so much cheaper and looked way nicer. Ended up getting a fully loaded C in a beautiful blue for $10k. He has no regrets and loves it. The odd thing though is the C gets most worst mileage than the regular ole prius. Me and him both get around 40 to 45 mpg in city. I think thats pretty **** for a hybrid car. I mean when driving its hard to notice that the C is faster than a mirage too. They're both excruciating slow. The difference is he can maintain a higher highway speed while getting good mpg where as the mirage fails at above 65mph. Either way its a good little car and has some nice amenities

Yeah - the current Prius hatchback is pretty outrageously designed. The company even toned down the front of the car a couple of years after it was released:

Toned down:
I'm probably in the minority, but I grew to like the new one. The back end of it has some 1959 Chevy Impala DNA in it - almost like it wants to have horizontal fins.

I like the weird lunar look of the Prius Prime. I generally have no issues with ugly or weird cars. I think most people are ok with weird ugly cars too, or how else would the friggin Tatas (Teslas) be so popular. I think they're fugly.
That 59 Impala is just fabulous. The below is my 1972 Plymouth Scamp.

I knew that! Difference between "isn't selling" (my words) and "is no longer for sale".
I wonder if Toyota would ever cancel the Prius hatchback, even if sales dropped to the Mirage's level. Prius sales have been falling like a rock since 2013, but it's still a technological halo car for them.
U.S. Prius sales, 2020: 43,525 (best year 2012 @ 236,655 sales)
U.S. Mirage sales, 2020: 19,136

It was in the consideration list when gas was insanely high ($3.50+ per gallon). I do like how they look now. Of Prius competitors, the Prius, for me, looks the best.
Great post!

Another thing the Prius & Mirage have in common:
Commercial fleet use!
That's saying something.
