Going to a junk yard to review a car is surely a new approach.

If I was in the market for a new Mirage, I would visit White Bear & ask to test drive the Mirage with 414,000 miles on it.

    Too bad it's not nearby:
    1. Nice rims.
    2. Those sideview mirrors would make good spares.
    3. Steering wheel switches!

    Memorable quote:
And note on the left side of the instrument binnacle, that’s a push button starter located exactly where a Porsche 911 has it. In case you want to practice your LeMans starts in your Mirage, you can! And for a bit of relevant history, there was a race car named Mirage that raced at LeMans, was the first to wear the now-iconic Gulf Oil color scheme, the first to win races for Gulf Oil and the last car to win LeMans overall for Gulf Oil. Maybe just a little of that provenance can transfer to our Mirage.
    Binnacle?? lol

Nice writeup but clearly he hasn't driven one hahaha. The comments section is good reading too.

Great article. Not often we see an auto journalist lauding the Mirage for how well it does what it is designed to do. I never thought I would see a journalist eulogizing a wrecked one!

That's only like $250 a piece in Canadian dollhairs.

So cheap! And it makes the car look so much better!
