Didn't they have that awful self destructing Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)?

Yes Powershift that forced Ford to settle a class action lawsuit. Makes a JATCO CVT7 look like a Toyota 4speed auto in comparison.

Yes, dual-clutch. We have 3 of them (2016 Focus) in town for our driving school. The one we had the longest needed transmission work done before 15,000 miles. I am not impressed by them. Thankfully, we also have 2015 Impala that I used 90% of the time. The V6 Impala has been a nice car. I just did 4 hours of btw lessons with it this morning. Impala is much more comfortable to sit in. I feel more claustrophobic in a Focus than my Mirage. You feel more wrapped around in plastic with the Focus. The Mirage also has plastic, but there seems to be less of it.

Isn’t that incomparable as apple versus grapefruit? Subcompact car vs compact?

It was just meant as an example as to how messed up the used car market is right now.

This is true. As much as I'd like something different to drive it's not a good time to buy right meow.

I was quoted $17500 OTD after MSRP of $15565 for the ES 5MT 😩. Living in CA sucks.

For the same $, it can be had for the used iA, Mazda 3, Corolla, Accord, Civic and such. Not only that but fewer choices with the MT and I'm few $ away for a brand new one at MSRP in normal circumstances unlike now. Dang.
