Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the engine has steel sleeves ...

I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything

The 3A92 is sleeve-less. It has a .050" (i believe) iron coating done, but for the life of me I can't think of the terminology even though I get parts coated at work using the same process.

    Resurrection Time!

Ok so with my engine being torn down Im again looking for piston/rod combos and here is what we appear to now know thanks to some other members Rods- length 133mm Large End 43mm Small end 18mm. I also know some of the guys in asia are using the Vitara D series pistons for low compression. Im not sure how as the D series use 19mm crank pin, so assuming the D series pistons are actually being used they will have had to change rods also.

With regard to beefing up the stock rods I discovered the Daihatsu 1.3L K3-VET engine uses these rods 43mm BE 18mm SE and length of 132.5mm AND aftermarket H beam rods are available for this engine. So one could upgrade these, however in doing so now our Honda D vitara pistons no longer fit since they use 19mm pin... So I'm still researching rod/piston combos that may work together.

This message has been brought to you by the worlds highest boost most abused 3A92 That's all I got for now!

Seems like the Vitara D 18mm pin pistons could be machined to 19mm pretty easily no?
