    New Armrest Options

Recently, I've seen arm rests that have a different mounting option made specifically for the Mirage. Since I changed my seats to the red-stitch LE ones, I thought I'd get a matching red-stitch arm rest with the new mount. Below are the pictures of my install with some other options with the new mount. The arm rest itself can slide for and aft, and so does the actual pad too, great adjusting and comfort potential.

That looks good to me! I've an an OEM Mitsubishi console in my closet for 4 years now and still haven't installed it.

Can you describe the installation process? Is anything securing the base piece in place (steps 1 & 2 below) to the existing rear cup holder? I don't see any drilling in the instructions...that's why I'm asking.

It is so easy. There's 4 pre drilled holes in cup holder. Then I added 4 additional screws. Simple.

As nice as OEM is, finding an OEM one under $100 bucks steered me towards the aftermarket cheapo ones on ebay/Amazon. For 30 bucks it's a no brainer to be honest. They also pop right into the rear cup holder and can be screwed down if you want to and look fine and work just as well. I will admit I wanted an OEM, but the price didn't work for me. To each their own!

This thread is nothing about OEM.

I just realized I didn't type this properly, my goof, fixed. Plus it was more aimed at Top Fuel's posting, I should have quoted him. Sorry for the confusion.

If you are talking about the OEM center armrest that attaches to the rear cupholder, I don't think there is anything special about it at all. It's quite small, & nothing slides forward like many other types. It's most positive feature is that it doesn't get in the way of much by being so small.

Paying more for the OEM one is just spending extra money for less in my opinion.

I bought the same, only with white lines, it is a no-brainer for that amount of money, and with a 10-day delivery

I'm surprised more people didn't take issue with the lowness of the arm rest. I really needed that "Elbow friend" pad to give more support.
