    Deepish Snow Driving

Today we got over 6 inches of snow, and I live on a steep hill so I decided to take the car out and see how it did. Let me tell you this thing is a absolute tank it didn't care about the snow at all minus the fact that the mpg tanked but who cares abt that in a storm anyway. attached are pics and a vid of the nugget in the snow.
We are supposed to get about 15 inches over the next couple of days Ill let yall know how it goes!

Mirage is pretty good in the snow for sure. I have winters on my car for the first time, and they improve the traction that much more. I like to drive in lower gear during the winter, so basically 3 things are affecting my economy negatively: just the cold weather, now the snow tires themselves, and thirdly I always drive in a lower gear all winter wherever I'm going, I find I get a smidgen more traction that way all the time. With the higher RPMs.

I spent all day yesterday driving in the same stuff you did. My Mirage has studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7s and it was a BEAST in the snow and ice.

Not only did I not get stuck I really never even slipped or skidded.

Had some decent snow up here in the Pacific Northwest for the first time this year overnight. They don't salt or grit the roads here (hooray for no rust and happy paint jobs), so getting home was basically driving over fresh snow/ice.

The car handled it without any issue, even the large hill leading to my home. I was happily surprised. I'm using whatever 15" tires are recommended in that wheel/tire thread here, and after last night I can happily recommend them as well.

I will also say that the ABS and ESC on the Mirage are surprisingly effective. At least, it seemed to be the one time I actually did begin to slide. I can remember the one time it came on back when I was driving a 2007 Monte Carlo SS. Compared to that, the brake pulsing in the Mirage is much snappier and seemingly more effective.

I've been (barely!) slippin' and sliden' my way around NYC for a week or so now, and the little Mirage has handled some pretty sloppy roads with aplomb. Parking, which is parallel all the time in this city, is a bigger issue with the huge lumps of iced up snow always in the way, but with a little, shall we say, enthusiastic pedal work I've been doing well even in that regard. For it's first full blown winter this Mirage has been great!

Size: 92.0 KB I live on a very steep hill and even with 10+ inches it didn’t care no slipping or sliding on the factory tires at all.
(Edit) I don’t know why the pics are sideways but y’all get the point ahah

Know what I hate about driving my 5-speed Mirage G4 in the snow?

Waiting for the jeeps and 4x4 trucks to get out of my way.

Both this car, and the 2015 I used to have, are invincible in the snow. It's almost comical listening to the engine eagerly growl its way along. I don't have studs or snow tires, just four Uniroyal Tiger Paws in 175/65r14. I wish the heater could keep up a little better, some day when Wisconsin isn't visiting Oklahoma I intend to check the cabin air filter.
