I guess it could be. My (limited) experience with those is that they will click when they go bad. But I guess cv joint is a possibility. Not sure, really. Thanks, I guess I need to troubleshoot it further.

Update - it was a bad left front wheel bearing.
Replaced it today and car is quiet again. I had forgotten what the motor sounded like.
I'll post a few pics after I clean up.
Only trouble was the abs sensor broke off inside the spindle, and I couldn't get a torque wrench on the ball joint nut. Had to wrench tighten it, real good. Ordered new abs sensor, 118.00

Good to hear its OK now.
Another method to check front bearings:
You could jack it up in front on both sides and support each side on stands with something like wooden blocks, so both front wheels are in the air. Then start the engine and put it in third gear. That way you can hear if the front bearings are noisy.

Thanks, I was able to spin each wheel by hand and feel the vibration on the left spring. Could hear it easily, too.

Also noticed, the original bearing didnt seem to have any part number or other markings on it. I'll clean it up tonight to be sure, but I didnt see any markings like the new one has (new one is NTN AU0750).

Some pitting on the hub, cleaned up with emery cloth.
Reused the nylock tie rod end and ball joint nuts, but put drop of blue Loctite on threads. Anyone else reuse these type of nuts?

    Depends on who's asking.
