Now just have to find out if you guys in the States can get a part number for the short belt.
Update... hmm I struck out looking online for a non-AC belt on CANADIAN parts sites. Most of them seem to use US databases.
NAPA Canada only shows one belt available. I assume for the AC cars. 3 other Canadian online sites show only one belt available. ONE of those sites indicated it was the belt for AC cars.

Maybe dspace9 can have a look if the size printing is still visible on his shorter belt?
If somebody PM's me with a VIN, I could look up the Mitsu part number.
1340A128 is the part number for this (non-AC) car I found on the kijiji's VIN: ML32A3HJ8FH057970 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/...age-es/m733992 https://www.riversidemelfort.ca/used...f9a2ba8875.htm
Might be a bit of a nightmare to find one other than from Mitsubishi? If you had the dimensions a decent parts person could probably get you a part number to try.

I should have saved it from last night's searching, but it looks like the AC belt is used on multiple vehicles from multpile manufacturers. I'm sure I even saw a Mercury listed.
The non-AC belt is probably similar.
One of the sites also listed all the specs/dimensions for the AC belt.

Funny - when I only search on "1340A128 belt", I get a few Russian parts sites. I didn't think Russia even got the Mirage.
I did find this handy illustration as confirmation though:

The part number shown in that image for the AC belt (1340A146) matches what members here have used to replace the AC belt:

Wow. That's pretty extreme.
During the hottest months of the year, temperatures regularly top 40° C (105° F). Even during the cooler “winter” season you can expect daily highs to be around 30° C (86° F).
