Thread: Bypass the AC compressor with a shorter serpentine belt?

  1. #21
Well, Crappy Tire has 2 belts in their system (neither in stock, but they can order them) and one belt has a note that says "no AC".

    $37.99 though. Oof.

Do you have a part number? I looked on the crappy tire site. What a steaming pile that is to try and look something up. They showed one v-belt and you picked what size and the other was a continental belt #4060485 The gates belt I use is a K060483 iirc

    I didn't get a part number.

But I think 4060485 is the AC belt, because it's the ONLY size listed on the partssource.ca site.

I think you're right about that. It could suck to be one of the 7 people who have a non ac Mirage. Wonder what the dealer wants for a belt?

Try this chart. The ac belt is a K060483 (page 30) All the specs are there. Shouldn't be hard to figure out how long you need and go from there. So you'll need a K060___ whatever length you need in inches. a k060483 is 48.3" long. K060480 is 48" long(48.12") long etc...
If only there was a knowledgable auto parts person who coulda passed this along a day ago instead of pointing out the obliviously obvious

This is equivalent to a gates K060352 or Dayco 5060353
Both should be pretty readily available I would think. We stock the gates at pretty much all of our 14 locations
Looks like it fits 10-16 mini coopers 1.6 DOHC

We have that k060352 belt in stock as well but I wasn't able to look it by using a Mirage. I even went to Gates online catalog and they only showed the one w/ac belt. Maybe I was on glue?
