Long time lurker, First Time Poster!

    ‘Ello great Mirage peeps!

I’m a long time lurker of Mirage forum and finally decided to make my presence known! I drive a Blue 2018 ES Manual purchased in May, 2018 @ 35 miles, now at 27.5k (But technically the second owner.... so no 10yr/100k power train for me)

Just wanted to say hi, and show my support for Mirage forum, a lot of great energy, and knowledge with folks who care about their car. Hopefully I can contribute somewhere, somehow as I’ve had my own experiences with mine. I’m in my 20’s but have owned many cars and fixed many things as a broke college student working through college. Thank you for taking the time to read if you’ve made it this far!

Sorry my mistake. So my 2018 mirage ES with only 6800 klms is covered for another 53,200 klms or 5 years.

Subsequent owners receive 5-year/60,000-mile coverage under the Basic Coverage of New Vehicle Limited Warrant.

You're fine. You still get the entire 10 year 160,000km warranty. I just got a new engine in my 2014 Mirage last month. In the US only the first owner gets the entire powertrain warranty. It's not like that here in Canada.

The word transfer in Canada is used for the 5-year/100,000 km warranty. Where does it say a 10-year/160,000 km warranty transfers for a Mirage in Canada?

I received a new short block engine for my Forester that more than twice past warranty in age & mileage, because of a class action lawsuit against Subaru.

If a company must admit there is a serious problem, they may feel or be pushed to correct it regardless of warranty.

The US manual specifically states the power train warranty is not transferable. And the Canada warranty Manual does not state this anywhere that I could find. This is an argument about assumptions. You'll have to show me where it says the powertrain isn't transferable to subsequent owners (in Canada) for me to believe otherwise. I could be wrong.

Maybe Metro will chime in and help continue this derail lol. He knows how to read too.

I'll post pics again here. I just read the manual again cover to cover. It states twice that the warranty is transferable but states nothing about subsequent owners getting shafted.

Unless I'm reading the second paragraph titled "Applicability" wrong it says: "original AND subsequent owner(s)"

I'm kinda curious about this. If my white car in fact had no warranty and was replaced because of the recall(which was already performed in 2018) then I had better get my black car in too. It has a stack of recalls to be completed. I'll take another free engine!
