    front brake shield

    Just thinking (after replacing my lf wheel bearing)....if the brake shield ever needs to be replaced (rusted away, etc), would the hub have to be pressed out and a new bearing installed? I hope those shields don't rust easily. My old Ford truck is on it's third set.

    I've never done that before. I think the hub (and wheel bearing) needs to come out first before the front brake shield "dust cover" can be replaced.
    If it looks rusted, maybe you could remove the rust, undercoat and paint it, saves some effort later.

    Yeah, the hub has to be removed to replace the dust shield on these things.
