If a Mirage were to "outrun" law enforcement...

I'm not suggesting the following to transpire, but if a U.S. Mirage owner were to get chased by law enforcement, and get away, said owner should be:

    • Flown to Mitsubishi headquarters and honored.
    • Requested by many race teams to come do some "test" driving to see if they can back it up on the track.
    • Given a full pardon by former president Trump.
    • Requested to take the helm of "The Stig."
    • Given a knighthood by the Queen.
    • Written about in history books.
    • Make the cover of many automotive magazines.
    • Star on the next crappy version of Fast and Furious.
    • And go on late night tv shows.

What else am I missing? What else should be done to said driver?

Be in charge of Mirage development and put a 6 speed manual transmission with the 6th gear having a reduction ratio of .6 and put a actual CVT external oil cooler instead of the passive stack coolant cooler currently in use. Oh, and 4 wheel disc brakes, no reason for any car to have drum brakes these days. I can't imagine how a disc rotor could be any more expensive than a drum.

Free "General Lee" (from Dukes of Hazzard) paint done for your Mirage!

Sidenote: If I wanted to outrun the cops with a 78 hp Mirage, I would pick some type of "cloaking device" over a turbo!

Hilarious. I literally laughed out loud at the Dirk reference.

I think it is possible that a Mirage could get away. If there's a lot of traffic, and the law enforcement cars are driven by Barney Fife type. On the roads I see a mixture of different driving skills. Ranging from poor to horrible with no clue. Very rarely I see good drivers. I have to believe that the law enforcement skills have a range too. Maybe 1 standard deviation better than the general public due to training. But rare few on the level of an Earnhart.

I was parked at a Walmart yesterday with a friend. When we came out of the store, she said "I start looking for a open space in the parking lot, because that's where my Mirage is usually parked". Next to the other cars from a distance, the parking space looks opens until you get closer to it.

I thought that was a bit funny!
