Rear mounted bike rack for hatchback Mirage?

Does anyone know if Yakima or Thule or anyone else makes a rear mounted bike rack that fits the hatchback version of the Mirage?

    Something like this?

I just called Yakima and they said the Quickback, KingJoe and King Joe Pro all fit the Mirage.

    Welcome to the forum Madison320.

You know... looking at the top strap in the link you posted, I wonder if it would work with the Mirage's rear spoiler.

    Did you get a Mirage?

    Thanks!

Yes. I've had it for a week. I'm assuming the strap would just go over the spoiler? They said they tested it.

So far I really like this car. My main concern now is longevity. At least I have a warranty. This is a big change for me. I've always owned a truck.

Congrats! Make a garage entry if you have a photo!

Treat it nicely and do the normal maintenance, and it'll be fine.

The little 1.0L engines in the Metro/Fireflies would easily go 300,000 km with proper care. Rust usually ate those cars up before the mechanicals gave up.

I spoke with the good folks at Saris, and here's what they said:

"The one thing I notice about the new Mirage is that it has a very large rear spoiler on the top of the hatch. Many vehicles that have similar spoilers like that aren't able to handle trunk racks. In many cases the spoiler is made out of a soft plastic that is unsupported.
Saris has not tested their racks on the Mirage yet."

We have a Saris Bones RS rack, and I will not use it on our Mirages.

Thanks for this thread. I hope we can find a suitable trunk rack.

    Also, don't forget this approach:

Crap. I doubt there much difference between the Saris and the Yakima. I wonder if you can go under the spoiler or put some padding between the straps and the spoiler. Do the straps exert much pressure on the spoiler?
