Random odd or cheap for sale...

Rather than clog up the cheap Mirage thread with random adds how about just start a new thread?

    I stumbled upon this odd one the other day. A 1968 Subaru 360 $11,500 obo Attachment 21301 2 stroke, 2 cylinder, 4 speed. https://www.hagerty.com/media/valuat...pected-moment/

I'd drive this thing. Parts might be hard to find though.

0-50 mph time is 37.5 seconds. They didn't do the normal 0-60 mph time, because it really can't do 60 mph.

I guess there's different specs depending on where you look. Consumer reports has to be one of the least credible sources imo. Wiki says Consumer reports test has different numbers...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_360

" the 360 had a top speed of 60 mph (96.6 km/h),[7] and with a curb weight under 1000 pounds, the 360 was exempt from compliance with US safety regulations. Consumer Reports recorded a 0-60 time of about 37 seconds "

Regardless, Who cares....??? 0-60 times isn't the point of the post. Rumor has is car reviewers are sometimes paid to give better reviews to certain mfgs...

I'm not sure wtf is going on with this one- https://www.carindigo.com/mitsubishi/mirage/0to60

"The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage comes equipped with a 1.2-liter Inline 3 that makes 191 hp @ 6100 rpm and 74 lb.-ft. @ 4000 rpm of torque. The car takes 12 seconds to reach 60 MPH from a standstill while it is able to run a quarter-mile in 18.8 seconds.

The Mitsubishi also offers another engine. It is an Inline 3 that spills out 281 hp @ 5800 rpm and - of torque. This powertrain is available with the GT 4dr Hatchback (1.2L 3cyl CVT) and helps the car to reach from 0-60 MPH in 12 seconds." Are we missing out on 120hp?

I wasn't being critical of the Subaru. I just shared what I found on it. I don't remember ever seeing one. I don't care that much about 0-60 mph times either. These cars still beat walking!

The title of the Subaru actually reminded me of Doug DeMuro's stupid Mirage title.

I do remember my uncle owing a Honda N600, which would have been the same vintage car. It was also two cylinders but not a 2-stroke engine. The N series was replaced by the Civic.

    Fiat 600 Multipla 1957. 32000km, €39000.

This car has a 633cc 22hp engine, it is 3.51 m long (30 cm less than a Mirage), and has 6(!) seats.

This is odd but not necessarily cheap. I was at the Mecum auction in Indianapolis a couple of weeks ago. I didn't see this car but stumbled across it in the catalog. Listed as 42,000 original miles...

How small is a Honda Z600?

    Length: 123 inches
    Height: 50 inches
    Weight: 1,300 pounds

    2-cylinder air-cooled engine (598 cc)
    4-speed Manual transmission
    10 inch diameter wheels

This one sold for $17,875...not including the 10% buyer's premium added to the winning bid.

Wonder what a restored Mirage will bring in 40-50 years?

Definitely odd, definitely not cheap. Something wrong with the old used car industry. I used to daydream about buying old cars, but not anymore. I blame “bring a trailer” and all sorts of garbage. Oh well, saves me money right ? This thread should be fun though
