I have a pretty terrible blind driveway on a steep hill so I ride mine almost everyday. Pretty sure if I don't wear it prematurely, no one will.

Manual is a lot more interactive and fun I feel, and I felt almost obliged back when I bought my new Mitsubishi make it manual tranny, it didn't feel right otherwise.
Previous daily was a 90 mx5, got sick of the noise but I loved that car. I sold it for more than I paid for it and put 100k miles on it.

I hate to see manual options disappear, but it's a trend that probably isn't going to change.
I rode in a ND based Fiat 124 abarth automatic and it was surprisingly competent. Good? Not quite, but it's definitely acceptable for street driving. The 90s autos were TERRIBLE. Torque converters really help turbo's spool so that is a good combo in the fiat.

    From this page. Caption:
1970 Daf 33. This was it, the DAF I bought in 1980, refurbished, painted into an action car, Dodewaard, Borsele, Almelo, Kalkar, Woensdrecht and many more places I visited with it, travelled through Africa with it and sold on for 350 guilders years later after I had driven three hundred thousand km with it. 44 sets of drive belts further and regularly maintained at Jules Karthaus in Nijmegen, the DAF specialist there.
300000 km equals to 'only' 186000 miles, but when he bought it, it was already 10 years old.

DAF that's the sort of classic car you never see in Canada or the USA. Here mostly big old American muscle cars, Challengers and 56 Bel Air's.

Anyways I'm pretty sure my Dad or Uncle had a DAF back in Holland years ago, not sure the model, and for sure they had an old FIAT with suicide doors.

Thank you man cool! How come the Dutch dont manufacture cars anymore? The Germans, Swedes and Italians shouldnt get all the praise lol. I feel like the Netherlands being such an industrious society, would produce a quality car.

The Lightyear. A Dutch electric car which is supposed to be able to run 20000km a year on it's build-in solar panels. It's a spin-off of the Stella Vie,

a street legal car, which won the World Solar Challenge in Australia in 2017.

Unfortunately the Lightyear is a bit beyond my budget. It costs more than €100000.

Cool examples, but I meant like a large national brand e. g. Volkswagon or Volvo?
