    Question wheel stud replacement

    Hello all,

    I need to change my wheel studs, I was wondering if any tips/mirage specific instructional where available?

    With the wheel/rotor/caliper off. will there be enough room to pound the studs out or will i need to remove the dust shield/anything else. Also is their a specific torque i should torque the studs too? or any specific tools i should buy?

    This is copied from the 2015 Service manual, I don't know for sure if it applies to your model or not.
    I think the dust shield would at least need to be loosened to make room for the stud to come out.

    I would have tried it that way too. Normally they don't need replacement unless they were grossly overtightened.

    Few swings with a BFH and they pop right out. Why do you need to change them?

    One of them is cross threaded but I think it would look weird if I changed just one so I bought 8 on rock auto. The shop that the previous owner went to probably didn’t start the nuts by hand.

    I do not know what “BFH” means? I only own a framing hammer. Wish me luck

    Replace the one. The other lug nuts won't care or tell!

    BFH = "Big Fcukin' Hammer".

    No real need to change all of them...just the damaged one.
