Agreed. I looked underneath my Evo and Eclipse Cross and it would take a lot of work to get a 4G63/64 in a mirage but the 4G15T looks like it's doable and the Colt ECU might simplify things. The bump in hp and tq should be fun. Did the Colt R have an LSD?

Wouldn't a V6 6B31 from a Outlander GT actually fit easier? The block is roughly the same length as the straight 3 cylinder 3A92.

The Colt had a Ralliart version that might have come with an LSD. Probably isn't much of an aftermarket for that car...

It's 227hp with no boost so even if it's 150lbs heavier (which it probably isn't) it's going to be reliable as a daily driver and should deliver some hilarious acceleration.

Not gonna find a 4g15t in North America. That 4b40 seems like it might bolt up to our transmission though.

I do like the idea of a 6 cylinder I wonder how much wider the 6b31 is than a 4g15t… do you know if there’s a aftermarket for the 6b31 engines?

No, no real aftermarket for the 6B31. In North America it was only used in the Outlander GT but one advantage is that it is mated with a 6 speed automatic (not a CVT). The 2005-2009 engine has a 9.5:1 compression ratio and the 2010 onward have a 10.5:1 compression ratio. It is the only Mitsubishi engine that still uses a timing belt and 2021 was the last year for the 3.0 here in North America.

or if you can wait a little longer the engine from the GR yaris is very tiny yet so powerfull, just wait for a totaled one, but i don't think the price will go down soon its still new.
