    I want a Space Star! I'm jealous!

Since buying my new Mirage 6 weeks ago (in the USA) I have fallen in love with this car. It's everything it should be! I've gotten better at driving it (potholes of any size are EVIL).

My kin folk and everybody else always rudely yawn when I tell them I bought a Mirage.

How cool would it be if I could just tell them I bought a Mitsubishi Space Star? These hill jack rednecks would be going WHUUUTTT? Then they would show the car a little bit of curiosity -and possibly - respect.

I don't know what Space Star means in European, but in American speak, Space Star makes one think of Battlestar Galacta, Star Trek, 2001 Space Oddity, the Wrath of Kahn, Blade Runner....

I wish I could rebrand my Mirage a Space Star. I know that's not going to happen, but deep down I know my mighty Mirage has deep Space Star roots.

You can rebrand it. The space star is the same as the us mirage, just with a different name. Back in the day they were two completely different cars.

That's just making someone yawn, but with extra steps.

Just kidding. At least no one would have a clue.

Haha! I love my mirage too and I also think space star is a way cooler name!

I think you should go with the Dodge Attitude rebrand. ...

    That'll confuse 'em even more.

If I hear the name Space Star, I don't really vision a small economy car.

I sort of liked the Plymouth/Dodge Colt name, & those were basically Mitsubishi vehicles.

The latest Eclipse Cross sort of proves Mitsubishi isn't very creative when it comes to naming vehicles these days.

I never owned one, but I thought the Mitsubishi Mighty Max (perfect name) pickup trucks were tough little rigs.

I agree... If they are going to yawn, then make them think about it!

The only thing that makes me hesitate about the name/emblem change is I drive most of my time in rural USA on country or highway routes (its just where I live).

I think I could get a pass from highway patrol if I was only doing 5 miles over the speed limit in my Mirage, but if I (semi unprofessionally) rebranded my Mirage a Space Star with all the shiny logos and badges from Europe, I might be in for a world of hurt - or explaining to the county judge where this car came from. Taxes, titles, liens, import fees, government county oversite when I want to pay next years sticker....

I'm going to retract my Space Star question.
