What's a fair price for 2015 Mirage DE manual with 19,000 miles in today's market?

You are the one questioning his $7,990 asking price, & you're basing that off of a Mirage he listed 4 years ago?

I searched the entire country (cars.com & autotrader.com) for Mirage manuals with under 20,000 miles. These are the cheapest one I can find in today's market -

This is the current Mirage manual low mileage (under 20,000 miles) market. This is very drastic change in the used car pricing of the Mirage. I only searched for manuals. I did a "manual" sort, but I didn't 100% confirm these are all manuals on each site.

First conclusion - A 2014-15 Mirage manual that's under 20,000 miles is very rare. I didn't find one.

A 2015 DE manual with 19,000 miles for $7,990 doesn't look that out of line to me. Like I just said, a 2015 manual with that low of mileage is quite rare. Compared to the 2015 DE manual with 28,128 miles for $8,772 above, I feel his $7990 Mirage with less mileage is a good deal.

Eggman - When you say the car market hasn't changed that much from 4 years ago, I would really question that? It's changed drastically in the last few months!

Anyone could have bought a 2021 Mirage for $10,999 in April. If you were a Mitsubishi owner, it would have been $9,999 for a brand new Mirage ES manual (after the $1,000 loyalty rebate) @ White Bear.

You're not going to touch a low mileage (under 20,000 miles) used Mirage for under $10,000 now unless it's a 2014-15.

Given the current market, $7990 is a good deal on any Mirage (regardless of the year) with under 20,000 miles (provided it's in good shape & not a salvage/rebuilt title).

I've explained where I am coming from, but I don't understand where you are coming from at all?

A low mileage 2015 ES manual with all those fancy extra features is probably priceless!

That Carvana price is what drove me to buy a 2021. When I was looking foe a 2-4 year old model they were all around 12K in my area. New was 11900, what a weird car world currently.

Eggman - We are on a totally different wavelength here, & as far as I am concerned I am thankful for that.

I wouldn't pay more than $10,000 for a Mirage. I have said that several times on this forum. My opinion of the value of a Mirage has NOTHING to do with today's market. My price limit is based on what I am willing to pay for a daily driver. I'd rather pay off my property & spend money on other things.

Sure, Applezz13 gets it. Most of us get it, but Applezz13 may struggle finding that same deal today.

I became interested in a Mirage when I found out they could be had for $9,000-9,500 brand new all summer long & into the fall of 2017. A brand new Mirage for under $10,000 OTD caught my attention. It's why I have one in the driveway.

Times have changed. If I wanted to buy a Mirage @ White Bear today, they have one remaining manual that lists for $14,399 (no rebates listed). In 2017, White Bear had access to 50-60+ Mirages. Today their inventory is 12 Mirages (11 CVT & 1 manual).

If I bought a new Mirage from White Bear today, it would cost $5,000+ more than what I paid 4 years ago.

Current prices of new Mirages suck!

Likewise, prices of used Mirages also suck if you are trying to buy one.

No one cares what you or I would pay for any Mirage. I searched the entire country for a low mileage (under 20,000 mile) Mirage manual using cars.com/autotrader.com. A 2015 DE manual with 19,000 miles for $7,990 is better than anything else I could find. Would I pay that for one? If I desperately needed a car, I would strongly consider it.

I have been very clear with my postings on this forum. I bought a brand new Mirage, because it was around $10,000 OTD & delivered to my driveway for free. That, however, has nothing to do with today's pricing. A 2021 Mirage today would cost me about $15,600 OTD. At that price, I would consider the $7,990 2015 DE manual.

Thankfully, I am not in the market for a car. If someone can hold off, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a Mirage today. Then again, things may not change any time soon?

When brand new Mirages were selling for $9,000-11,000 these past few years, a slightly used one for $7,900 didn't looked very appealing. Brand new Mirages are selling for $14,000-20,000 today. That's a huge difference, & the used car market parallels that. ​

I don't think I am being a hypocrite at all. Nothing about my opinion of the Mirage has changed. I really like my Mirage. I still wouldn't pay a lot of money for one. There's no way I would pay over $10,000 for one. That a personal limit, & it has no bearing on the current market.

Did you miss the point that Carvana was selling this car for $5,000 more ($13,000 instead of $7990)? Duh!!!! This is what I hate about comments like this! You are not stating the facts correctly! You are twisting the narrative, and that's extremely lame coming from someone who claims to be a moderator on this forum. ​

You have the right to your opinion, but you don't have the right to make up your own facts. It's okay to say you wouldn't pay $7990 for a low mileage Mirage in today's market. If you also wanted to state Carvana couldn't sell this same car for $13,000, I wouldn't be having this discussion with YOU!

The above quote wasn't comparing his purchase to a low mileage $8,000 Mirage at all. He was saying 2017+ used Mirages were priced quite high ($12,000+). ​

I guess it's nice to know if you were selling your low mileage Mirage, it's not worth much to you (despite the current market).
