I copied the below from the internets, so it must be 100% correct. In summary, the problem is in the transmission. I have no idea how difficult or expensive / inexpensive this may be.

That sounds like a geared transmission. I'm not certain how it relates to a cvt. However, the following thread should be an interesting possibly helpful read. https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...0796-Limp-Mode
Im just wondering how expensive/ long the fix would be. Im still paying off the loan for the car and have put in 2500$ Of maintenance just in the two years ive had it. We really dont want the car anymore. I dont even have a choice because of the loan. My dealership wont take the car back

Not sounding too good, from what I've read. How long ago did you buy this vehicle? I ask because in the states, I think there is a requirement of either a 30 day or 60 day warranty. Not applicable to sales from private individuals. Just thinking out loud here.

Would it limp well enough to act like a reasonable trade-in (to a dealer)? I wouldn't sell that to a private individual, but dealers make the sneaky underhanded actions of casinos look like a sunday school lesson. So I'd let a dealer have it if I could sneak it through. If you could only find a dealer with a manual transmission Mirage. Course, you may be hating Mirages by now ... not saying I blame you.

The dealer that sold it to me wont budge with me. I still have 6,999$ left of payments on the car and he just wont help me get into another one at all.
I could most definitely drive it in, its on the highways where it screws up.

Find another dealer. They LOVE to trade in. Well ... that's because they love to screw over people. Hence the reason to give them a problem vehicle.

Maybe better yet ... sell the thing to CARMAX. I hear CARMAX is giving good money for them. Then find an equivalent vehicle (used vehicle value-wise) somewhere, Mirage or not.

Since the error code has been identified as CVT related have you had a CVT fluid / filter service done?

Before abandoning all hope I would at least have one done or if you are even slightly handy with tools you can do it yourself. It's messy but not complicated. If you have a friend that can do it buy them some pizza and beer and hang out with them while it's being done. You could do it yourself and clear the code. THEN sell it to CarMax. As long as they are willing to give you the loan payoff call it good.
