    2021 Space Star Cross trim

Came across this new trim they have in Europe for the Space Star, called the Cross. You get a black trunk, no touch screen, and some tan inserts on the seats. Supposed to be the "offroad" version.

Europe is hot over crossovers. Personally I hate that trend as it doesn't offer much off-road capability, just some added plastic trim. The black trunk reminds me of Toyota's mini hatchbacks here (Aygo, Yarris), sadly it doesn't match the unofficial R5 version of the Mirage/Space Star

I agree, I'm not sure what the point is. Trying to sell more cars. Doesn't look bad though. Yet looks identical to my Mirage. Mitsubishi says it's a crossover. But again looks identical to my 2014 Mirage. Not sure how the tan seats make the car offroad?

You would need that black plastic trim around the front and rear bumpers. And AWD and R5 engine

I just know some idiot in Europe is going to think they have an all terrain vehicle and get stuck in the Alps.

I'd better buy a Fiat Panda (4x4) for the similar amount of money.
I'd rather want (and dreamt of) a wagon style Mirage/Space Star, something like the G4, but with a hatchback. Now that, with factory installed roof racks would be banging car. And yes I totally agree that they're bringing a crossover to increase sales. It's like buying an SUV in North America. Yet they come with 2WD, and the same ride height.

We don't have the Fiat Panda in Canada. Not sure at all how good they are, however that is a Mitsubishi Mirage AWD basically. Not the same car but a subcompact car with AWD. For certain tasks that is a good car for sure. Not sure the reliability on Fiats but my Dad is from Europe, and says Fiats weren't reliable in the olden days.

The point with FIATs over here is that there are plenty, so there is a lot of parts for them, both new and used that are relatively cheap, plus the mechanics basically start working on FIATs, much like western nations start working on VWs as their first cars. I'm generally speaking for Ex-Yugoslavia + maybe Italy. The Pandas are awesome little cars, especially the first generation ones The reliability of Japanese car brands tho is undebatable, but the parts here are more expensive and harder to find due to low imports. We have 1 Mitsubishi dealer compared to 12 Fiat dealers as an example.

Fiats are sold at Chrysler and Dodge dealerships in Canada.

I do understand why Fiats would be a popular vehicle where you are, just based on geography. Kinda like instead of Turin Italy, we have Detroit. They pump out a lot of cars in those cities. So they are a dime a dozen.

Wouldn't be the first time a car company used the ol' stickers-and-stripes trick to try to convince consumers they are buying something they aren't!
