2022 Mirage (shows on Mitsubishi's website in Canada, not yet on U.S.)

The US webpage doesn't show the specs for the upcoming 2022 Mirages but the Canadian site has it up and available.

    Here is the link: https://www.mitsubishi-motors.ca/en/.../2022/overview

Good news is the 5 speed manual is still available. Still base model ES only but with the rapidly dwindling of manual transmissions even being offered in any vehicle I'll take this as a win.

You can sign up for the first release news of the 2022 Mirage.

I can't imagine anything really special happening in 2022. When the manual disappears, my interest in new Mirages will die. Hopefully, that doesn't happen. It's happening with most vehicles, however.

I was about to ask the question, "where in the world is the 2022 Mirage?"

2021 inventory is just about gone and we're more than halfway through the year.

Canadian page was updated last week. Price bumped up a lot and an new trim added.
Honestly, I would not get 2022 new Mirage starting at 14,098 CAD.
Mitsubishi CA cannot just pull out all competitors' specs and just say... at 17,000CAD range we offer those equipment; at the same time we honour longer warranty and better fuel economy...blah blah blah
From 2014-2020, your competitors are getting better handling, engine output and NVH. Mirage gets a hefty price tag.

On many levels I agree with you. The Mirage has remained relatively unchanged since 2017. They have done nothing to the suspension, steering, or powertrain. On a personal level, I am not knocking that. I really like the 5-speed manual powertrain of the Mirage. Adding features/raising the price of the base models just makes the car less & less appealing to me. With the exception of factory cruise being added in 2019, I could care less about the other stuff. For those who love extra features, offer the top trim level with a manual option. Leave the more affordable base level alone.

From 2017 to 2020, they added standard features to the base level to justify increasing the price of all trim levels. Meanwhile the trim levels above the base level remained unchanged for 4 years. There really wasn't anything new added to them to justify their price increase.

Earlier in the year (January-April), a new ES manual could be had for $11,000 ($10,000 for those of us that own a Mitsubishi). That made a new Mirage very appealing. Tack on thousands of dollars more than that, & the appeal is somewhat lost.

When the Mirage is priced right, it's an awesome economy car. In the areas of affordability, reliability, & economy, it's hard to beat ! Jack the price up, & it loses it charm fast!

A 2022 Mirage is almost the same price as the base Lancer 5 speed was back in 2014, when I bought my Mirage.

Glad I went with Mirage instead of Lancer, mostly for the MPGs. Still, I could have been driving a Jetta 5 speed, or a Lancer, if I had spent that $2,500 or so bit more.

Now Jettas are over $20k new, not in the $14k territory. And Lancers are history. Everything is getting more expensive!

Looks like they made the 2021 carbon package that's available on the 2021 LE trim into its own trim level for 2022. Replaced the LE with SE designation, and bumped the 2021 SE up to a reintroduced GT trim.

So... where is the US 2022 Mirage? Is the chip supply shortage affecting Mitsubishi? Will 2021 be the last year? Strange we haven't heard a peep.

Having just looked for cars in my area yesterday, it would seem the stock shortage is still in full swing. Within 500 miles of me, the cheapest new cars are still Sparks and Mirages, but the cheapest one costs >$16K.

RIP anyone who needs a vehicle right now.
