    cooling fan intermittent

    2018 Mirage G4 13,000 miles
Check engine just came on and coolant light also.
Is cooling fan supposed to run continuously when a/c is on? It goes on and off every few seconds.
No leaks or other noticable issues.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

What coolant light. Green or red?
Green is just a light to tell you the engine isn't up to temp. It's dumb so just ignore it. It'll go away after driving a few minutes.
Red is stranger danger. Over heating.

No the fan turns on and off as it sees fit.

Sorry, yes, it was green and goes off.
The check engine light is on constantly though. (just started yesterday) The fan goes on and off when the a/c is on. Doesn't seem normal as every other car I've owned, it stays on always with the a/c on.
No obd2 reader here, so it seems to be related to the fan I'm guessing.
Is there a way to check if it is fan or relay or???

Should you not still be under warranty??? I'd let a dealer look after it if it is...
I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything

I know my fan starts up as soon as I turn on the A/C. But I couldn't say if it stays on full time (with A/C on) or not. I would think the fan has different fan speeds. Yet when I first turn on the A/C, the fan comes on as loud as I ever hear it, so it must start on it's highest setting. But I've never took note if that fan stays on or if it stays on high.

A stop by the dealer if you're under warranty would be wise. I for one would be interested to hear how it goes.

Yes, but can't get in to the dealer until next week.

That's probably the best advice you'll get ^^^^^^^

Unfortunately the engine light could be on for more than one reason. Guessing at random things isn't normally the best way to troubleshoot. Nobody here can wirelessly scan your car over the interwebs. Yet. The only thing you could try yourself is make sure the gas cap is tight and the seal isn't damaged. Otherwise you're kinda sol.

By chance do you have anything plugged into the obdII port?

For less than $20 you can find out what your code is...and you don't even have to leave your driveway.
