It was auctioned on 'Bring a Trailer' a couple weeks ago. Apparently, the original owner was a long-time mpg geek. He bought this car new in 2000, then turned right around and bought a brand new Honda Insight shortly thereafter. The Honda was driven, the Metro sat in his garage for 20 years.

Pretty cool car, and he picked a perfect time to sell it.

He praises the Metro for it's fuel economy and weak powertrain and then disparages the Mirage, in another article, and yet it has more HP and is a NA 3cylinder? Granted, most of his criticism was on how overpriced the Mirage was but still he didn't have anything good to say about it's strengths, but did for the Metro with the very same strengths.

Maybe he didn't want to detract buyers from purchasing what he was selling?

The Mirage is basically a modern day Metro. It's newer, it's better, it's safer, it can be purchased with a 10 year warranty. I'm sure he didn't want his potential buyers to realize that and walk away.

Cool collector car though, it's about as mint as you'll ever find. Hope it found a new home.

Since the Mirage has appeared on the scene in 2014 here, many small cars have disappeared.

If Mitsubishi had a better dealership network in the States, I truly believe the Mirage would be quite popular & common. As car companies drop car models, used cars will also disappear from the scene in upcoming years.

I hope Mitsubishi realizes that, & they keep the Mirage here for a few more years!
