That engine mount. Is it something that you had to replace?

After I replaced the engine I sometimes noticed a clunk when shifting between reverse and drive. I was gonna back off the lower mount bolts and re-torque them but I had a mount kicking around so today I figured I’d try changing it and see if it made a difference. The old one looked fine but I haven’t noticed a clunk after replacing it….Yet. Both mounts bolt up the same way. I don’t know if old mount caused noise or if it just needed to be “adjusted” or tweaked. There was a good sized rock that was stuffed in the subframe behind the mount. So who knows what the actual fix was.

That clunk is for sure gone now. It was either that lower dog bone mount is worn,it wasn't torqued properly or the rock that I found in the subframe was hitting the mount.

I noticed the car rolls a lot better almost immediately. The economy on the cluster didn't agree though but it's that time of the month.
The ride though....Yeah, it rides like crap now and seems to require a little more steering corrections at speed. I'll give it few more days before calling it a terrible idea altogether. Then it'll be time to throw the cheap winter tires on.

So far drove 170km on this tank of fuel and cluster shows 630km til empty. The last time I filled it up was right to the top of the filler neck.

-Rust spot on lh rear 1/4 is growing bigger
    -Both fog lights are broken...Again

March 23, still running snow tires. Forecast calls for more snow this coming weekend and into next week
