Had to do the first non-routine repair on my daughter's car after five years and nearly 60K miles of use. Her car has 85K miles on it.
One of the four fasteners that attach the heat shield above the exhaust pipe behind the catalytic converter rusted and broke off today causing the heat shield to rattle quite loudly where it was loose. It took Dad about two minutes to determine where the noise was coming from. Installed a new fastener and she's good to go until one of the other three fasteners break.
Pretty darned pleased with this little car. Other than fluids, filters, tires, and brakes, it has needed nothing.
Here's hoping it makes it to 100K miles with no other non-routine repair.
