Some markets had a plastic box on the firewall I forget what it was for. We don't have that here in North America. The charcoal canister is at the back of the car under the spare tire.

Seems a mixed bag all over the world, I don't have anything under the spare tire and have a box in the engine bay like in this thread https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...Firewall/page3

Oddly I can only find canisters of the spare tire variety online, so I hope I never need a replacement.

with 1 out of 8 fuel indicators, I can only put just over 20 letters of fuel.
2018 mitsu mirage has 35 liters fuel tank.

I had 2 squares left just now, I filled up and put in 24.7 L of gas for $1.69 L (Canadian), so that leaves me with like 11 litres with two blocks left. I think when it starts flashing with less than one block left is like less than a gallon of gas left.

I think of each of the 8 blocks as being 8 gallons of gas of a 9.3 gallon gas tank. As a block disappears, a gallon has been used up (very rough estimate). When that final block disappears, it seems like more than 1.5+ gallons are left to me. I'd rather err on the positive side of things. I don't want to push even a light Mirage to the gas pump.

It's 1.2 liters, your gas reserve. Its why you have eight bars.

Agreed. Only made that mistake once and it's actually dangerous to run out of gas if you're on the freeway etc. When I'm nearing empty, I just fill up my tank right up again. The odd time I will throw in $10, just to get me through the rest of the week.

The empty bar starts blinking when there are 1.8 - 2.2 gallons left. At around 0.7 g the engine may not start when cold. Don't ask me how I know that.
