    2014 mirage engine swap question.

In a 2014 1.2 mirage. Are the engines that go in manual cars and the ones that go in automatics tuned the same? My girlfriend has a auto with a fried engine. I found a decent engine but it came out of a manual car.

I only ask because my father (honda mechanic) said he had a similar problem putting a manual block into an automatic car back in the day because the same engine was tuned differently.
    Thanks for any help.

wouldn't the "tune" be stored on the ECU that is located within the cab of the vehicle? I dont think an engine swap normally involves changing the ECU out.

You will obviously have to switch out the flywheel for a flex plate, but other than that I can't see any reason this wouldn't be a direct swap. It is my understanding that the engines in the manual and auto cars are identical.

The biggest differemces I've seen between automatic and manual engines was usually a throttle body or turbocharger that was different. This was in much older vehicles though. I don't see the added cost of having two different engines a thing nowadays. Especially when it comes to the cheapest car currently on the market.
