    Mirage 2003

Mirage 2003 I have a problem when driving in hot weather for about an hour or so, the temp starts going up. The car looses it power. car has done over 200000km.

    How are your RPMs?

Just throwing it out there. I used to own a 1986 VW Rabbit cabrio, and the overdrive gear was broken, so my car overheated in hot weather. Once I got a new (used) transmission my dad put on in, I was good, and the car drove perfect.

No problemo. I'm not trying to pitch Mirages but something to think about is, getting a newer or new Mirage for yourself if repair costs skyrocket.

My old Ford Escort got to that point, and I knew it when I went and test drove my Mirage. I was sitting in my Escort and looked around to what was parked next to me. I knew it was time to upgrade to the modern era and beyond cassette tapes.

Mirages are light cars. Lots of wind today and I could really feel it on the way home. Weather only got worse later. That is one knock on all small cars. However I think driving vans can be worse for the wind from what I heard.

You think a radiator flush might help? How 'bout bugs in the radiator or bent fins? Could be the airflow blocked jby trash, rabbits or some of those hoardes of frogs I've heard about in Australia....
