    Alternative uses for Honda and Mitsubishi car engines

    There was a company that used Suzuki engines as a conversion kit in years past and their web site is still active but I think the company is no longer operating.

    I saw a Subaru engine in a Cessna 150 at Oshkosh in '96. I commend the shops that adapt car engines for aviation. Anything to bypass the entrenched Lycoming/Continental monopoly of mediocre. I was always amazed at the Marvel carburetor company were featured in aircraft and tractors! The same cast iron toilet for both! The only difference was the mixture control for aviation.

    I understand that at one time the air cooled VW beetle engines were used with home built planes, but never seen one...
    I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything

    That's interesting! Ford Ranger engines were Mazda, weren't they? My '91 Ranger had dual ignition and a cast iron block as I recall. Seems like all aluminum engine would be better...

    Nope, the Ranger engines of this era where 2.3L Ford "Lima" engines... A very close Brother (or Sister ) to the 2.3L Pinto engine...

    Indeed. I have many an antique tractor with a Marvel Schebler Carburetor.
