Quality of Life Improvements for a 15 Mirage?

Yeah yeah... I know people will disagree with me on this, but that's not how they work at all (for me). My Dad farmed and worked in Heavy Equipment and knew the heartache of tinnitus at a very young age and thus had earplugs in our ears from birth basically. Anytime we were mowing or riding dirtbikes or whatever. I have continued that my whole life, concerts and factories obviously, but have found that they make pretty much any situation better. Because they don't reduce your hearing... they filter out all the background roar and actually make it easier to hear the things you want/need to hear. And because of this I still have perfect hearing at 43 whereas I meet people all the time much younger than me saying "huh, couldn't hear you" all the time.

Yeah, my dad is almost deaf in his left ear. It's the result of equipment like haybines, balers, and most other pull type equipment operating on the right side of the tractor. For decades he would turn his head to the right to check things behind the tractor, which always pointed his left ear towards the exhaust pipes mounted on the front hood of his diesel tractors.

I probably experience a little of it myself, but I never did it as much as my dad. It might explain why I don't think the Mirage is that loud or why I think the stereo in it sucks. Well it does suck compared to any other car I use, & I use a variety through driver's education, too. When highway driving, some kids actually drive better with the radio on.

I could live without radio in a car. I like the peace & quiet more & more. An inferior radio just annoys me. I tend to drive with the windows down a lot in the summer, too.

I bought an aftermarket armrest off Amazon. Fits into the rear cupholder. Does kinda make shifting gears and using the e-brake awkward, but if you have an Automatic Mirage, and drive on the highways mostly, this might make the trip more comfy.

I'll go along with this. I can believe it that it sort of filters and you can still hear what you need to hear. I'm even going to start wearing earplugs more. Because I have tinnitus somewhat and I wind up with my ears ringging occasionally from being around loud stuff. You've convinced me.
