I was ready to dismiss this but decided to check it out on the outside chance that these guys actually acquired a 5-speed car to review. I don't need to read another negative review of a top-trim CVT Mirage with a sticker price approaching $20,000. All that does is bring out the critics.

Our tester is the base ES trim with a manual transmission.
    Should be very interesting!

This is fantastic!! It's pretty exceptional that Mitsu is loaning out a base car for a long-term test. I told their communications rep years ago that they'd get better reviews if they did it.

I'm familiar with the reviewer's (Clayton Seams) work - been following him for years - I'm pretty confident he's going to give the car a fair shake.

He's also going to do videos on the car, and here's the "intro" one :

Mr. Seams is a true gearhead, with a wide taste in cars. He's owned, written & made videos about a bunch like buying his '70 Vette basketcase and getting it on the road:

I think his first car was a late 80's / early 90's Swift GT - basically the "sport" version of the 2nd generation Geo Metro.

    This should be interesting.

His car reviewing resume already sounds better than the dimwit Doug DeMuro.

They posted an update of their long term Mirage tester.

I find them talking more about the current used car market, than reviewing their Mirage. Hey, at least they don't bash the car. However I want to hear about their driving experiences. I just don't see many Mirage reviews on the internet where they test out the 5 speed manual. Reviewer says they're getting good gas mileage.

I see what you're saying. There wasn't much in that article about the Mirage. Slightly weird.

A few paragraphs on their impressions of their tester car would be nice.

Emphasize 'great on gas' lol especially these days. Every week I'm using all my PC points and Petro points etc to offset costs. I greatly dislike spending more than $40 to fill up my car. You get used to cheap fill ups after 8 years.

Gotta love the poetic justice of driving a sensible vehicle, my coworkers spending $700 a month on gas for their commuter truck. Must be nice to have a retirement plan like that
