Lightbulb What is this black box behind the air box?

Hi guys, what is this black box behind my air box? It has two hoses. One hose is connected to the engine, I guess. The other one is connected to a small pipe that I don't have an idea where it leads to. My car is Mirage G4 2018.

See if you can do something about the rodents chewing on your hoses before they start on your wiring harness & brake hoses.
I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything

Agreed. We don't take to kindly to rats over here.

@klroger, thanks for the advice. A couple of my hoses were damaged by a mouse. My guess is that I sprayed too much VS1 when I cleaned my engine bay, and it made it smell soooo good like candy. I learned it the hard way. I replaced my hose temporarily (the clear one on the picture). I'll go look for a new one.

I thought the charcoal canister was underneath the rear-end of the Mirage? I see it underneath my USDM 15 DE. I haven't seen this smaller charcoal filter, i wonder what it does.

Cars are built different for different markets. N/a mirages have charcoal canister at the back and have a maf sensor, I assume if you don’t have a maf then you probably have the charcoal Canister on the firewall. Those markets may have options like power folding mirrors, and rear fog lights, and adjustable headlights, and a speed alarm at 120kph, and no orange reflectors in the headlight housings and sometimes the steering wheel Is on the rh side.
