IMHO, the extra equipment makes the car look and feel much less like a 'bad credit special'.

This is something everyone forgets when they are talking about how much standard equipment the base model has. A fully-loaded Mirage would probably only cost another $10-15 a month. The alloy wheels look great, it comes with fog lights, better looking heated seats, and FAST key. This alone is worth the extra money to me.

I get people who want the cheapest car possible, but even the 'expensive' Mirage is pretty cheap.
For me, every dollar counts. I know it makes me sound cheap, but I'm single income. Make enough to buy a "better" car, but why bother? I try to live on less, so I have more in the future.

Deal breaker for me is the manual vs automatic transmission. Especially buying new, I would never buy a Mirage (or a Venue) without a stick shift. Just how I prefer my small cars.

I can live without key fobs, and cruise, and AC. Only thing I would do differently if I bought another Mirage new: I'd get a light paint colour. Thunder grey bakes me in the sun in hot weather.

Manual tranny is annoying in traffic, but I much prefer it day-to-day, as well as in the winter. I like being able to cut the power with the clutch when I am on slippery roads.

Its too bad they force some of these useless features like A/C and side airbags on us. Gotta save every penny so you have more to take to the grave with you.
please consider checking out my Mirage related youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6c...IEViRFw/videos

I just called my local Hyundai dealer to see if I could get an OTD price and they quoted $23,040.99 for a base Venue. My OTD price on my 2021 Mirage was $18k. $5k is a lot of money to a lot of people, especially in this day and age. I also agree with 7miles and Fummins, I think KIA/Hyundai reliability is overrated.

On a side note, I'm only avg 36mpg combined with my new Mirage, which is fine but its not the 39mpg I thought I would be getting.

Do some full throttle neutral drops it'll help break it in quicker.

LMAO. It's in the owners manual under "things not to do".

No. Put it in neutral, hold the throttle wide open then shift to drive. Don’t do it lol
