165/65r14 Vredestein Quatrac tires disappeared for couple months last summer. I emailed Tire Rack at the time, & they assured me they would be back in stock again. The special/closeout price is no different than what I remember them being before.

    My current pairs are -
Kumho Solus TA31 - put on my rear axle this past fall. They were brand new (replaced worn out Federal SS657 pair).
Nexen N'Priz AH5 - used on the rear the past couple winter & up front during summer months (glad I got them @ $50/tire)
Nokian Nordman 7 - this is their 5th winter up front, & they have been wearing extremely well for a snow tire.
Dunlop Enasave - used up my last pair this past summer.

New Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires may replace the worn out Dunlop tires some day. I may not need them for another year or two, however.

When it came time to change tires about 1 month ago I went with 175/65R14 because it is a very common tire size in North America so it had many models to choose from and lowest prices. And if I should ever get a flat tire that cannot be repaired then I would be likely able to buy a tire in that size locally.

I got tires that are $46 each:

We had a member here who kitted out his Mirage with super skinny tires on super light wheels.

I just skimmed this thread and didn't see anyone link to it, so I'll go dig & report back....

    This one maybe?

If reading is hard for someone, skip to post #24 for the rims to appear.

He used Honda Insight rims. I wasn't impressed with his tire choice.

He never returned to give a glowing report back to us.

Edit: One minute late on this one!!!!

Just to clarify, he used Insight SPARE TIRE rims. Even lighter (and skinnier) than the regular stock 14" Insight rim.

Yeah, I was disappointed about that.

With such tall, skinny sidewalls, it must have handled like total poop. Even worse poop than stock. I'm getting motion sickness just thinking about it!

I'm still thinking about finding something lightweight and not ugly on which to put these: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes or maybe 155/60-15.

Something like that, but at 10.5 pounds each, it sure doesn't seem worth it.

Are those 1 for $400? These are 2 for $340 and still too expensive: https://www.ebay.com/itm/322107334375

The blue Mirage with skinny wheels tires picture really looks nice to me. Why? I don't know. I've always been into big fat tars with big fat engines. But for some reason, skinny tars has really start to grow on me.

Now, just to level set, seeing a Dodge Viper on pizza cutters would make me want to barf. It has to be on a skinny tar appropriate vehicle. Like the Mirage.
