How to add cruise control indicator on instrument cluster

Hi, some of us already successfully to enable factory cruise control but no indicator light on meter cluster.
Thanks to @pandafool171 for the clues, I managed to add the cluster's missing LED on 2014-2016 Mirage.

First You need three missing components:
    • 3528 SMD LED (green or else)
    • 1206 SMD resistor, 2K ohm (202 or 2001)
    • G8 transistor dual NPN (I can't find UMG8, so I use EMG8 instead)

Disassemble your cluster and solder the components to this location:

    front side pcb

    back side pcb

    After soldering,

Now we have cruise control light up on cluster

Same with mine. I checked there are blank space for capasitor and resistor behind speed warning LED.
In circuit diagram there's no page for speed warning so I don't know what else missing.

    edit:
Forget about capasitor, based on other LEDs I think it needs a 1.5K resistor and a SOD323 diode.

Hi @allrock, I was able to add speed alarm indicator.
Solder the yellow 3528 LED on front side. 1.5Kohm 1206 resistor and 40V 1A SOD-323 Schottky Diode on back (see my previous picture).

so its the same process and parts with the cruise control?

Yes, basically the same process, You only need 3 components as I said above.

I added the missing cruise control led today. It was not really easy for me to solder this extrem small transistor, especially for me as a beginner in soldering, but at least it worked :-). I've taken a blue led for cruise control, because I've wanted to have it different from original because I've done it by myself.

The idea to use blue for the LED was a good one. And it looks good too. Is that a drop of blood between the 4 and the 5?

Yeah this project is for my girlfriends car and we've discussed before adding the whole cruise control project about adding the led for the instrument cluster and I've told her that the original led color is green, but it is boring and I suggested a blue led and she has liked my idea.

Haha no it isn't blood, but I was really tensed while doing the solder works, because this transistor is so unbelievable small, you can't imagine. I had fear to damage the pcb from the instrument cluster, but thanks god everything went good :-). The result is really perfect and nice to watch.
