Thread: I got a classic VW Bug*

  1. #11
Artist is too strong a word I think. I was just copying (trying to) from some diagrams I found online. More of a technical exercise?

It sure does make people happy though. Lots of picture taking. I can't think of any other car that would have that kind of effect on people. Maybe a 2CV or a Mini if we were in Europe?

We had some milder temps and beautiful sunshine yesterday, so the thing has lost some height. It looks more like a chop top custom Bug now.

although I think it's a bit harder to model it recognizable in snow.

    Nice.

A Ford Model T would also be good, but even harder to make than a Daf.

The good thing about the Bug that makes it appropriate for snow: it's igloo-shaped. :-D

I think the VW Bug was the perfect vehicle to do. It looks so good that I wouldn't be shocked if a passing dog lifted their rear leg to pee on it!

Hey Dirk, no, it's a "Form Fit" smoked plastic deflector. It fits really well & you do not have to drill any holes. I highly recommend.

I missed it. Someone posted it on a community FB page, and a CVT reporter saw it and asked if he could shoot some video of it.

Was it on during the weather forecast?

It is shrinking fast! It was just above freezing yesterday & will be a bit warmer today.
