The Mitsubishi Triton is becoming a rebadged Nissan Frontier in other markets (Australia is where I first heard of it). They may call the Nissan Frontier something else in other markets, but it's basically the same truck. The Mitsubishi truck shown in the pics looks like the new Nissan Frontier that came out recently.

North America may get a rebadged Nissan Frontier, but I highly doubt it's the original Triton. It's not about who made the better product these days. If Mitsubishi becomes a vendor for Nissan products, it still seems like death for Mitsubishi to me.

I fear you may be right. If all you're doing is putting your badge on someone else's car, that's not really an automobile company.

for me in really doesn't matter as long as they retain the 4N15 engine and the transmission because its way better than the nissan regardless of the badge, but i don't think asian market will be affected by this they prepared mitsubishi here.

North America isn't getting any truck from Mitsubishi, I don't think anymore, sadly.

If anyone wants a new Mitsubishi Triton in North America (like Australia has), there is nothing preventing that now. All you have to do is buy the new Nissan Frontier, because it's become the same basic truck.

I think Mitsubishi is working on $25k hybrids and economy EVs. Just a theory.

Electric vehicles may be a niche for Mitsubishi. They seem ahead of some of the other big players.

Toyota for example is not into sports cars, but they offer two (made by Subaru & BMW).

Mitsubishi may fill some void for Nissan. In all honesty, I was somewhat surprised the updated 2021 Mirages remained the same vehicles with new bumpers/grills.
