    Spark 1LT manual

So I drove a Spark. The car really impressed me. The power is great and it feels faster at 30mph then it is. Has and armrest and great sound/entertainment. What really impressed me was the ride quality and how quiet it was. Its sad to say but the Mirage does need a bit more updates.

    Any opinion on these?

A manual Spark is the way to go. Even though the Spark uses the same CVT as the Mirage, it is programmed differently and has shown some troublesome reliability issues. I think the latest version of the Spark is improved over previous versions but whether or not it will continue to be available is a real concern with GM looking to either drastically reduce or leave the South Korean market altogether.

    From the Motor Trend website...

EPA fuel economy ratings for the 2018 Spark:

    manual....29/39 mpg city/highway
    CVT.......30/38 mpg with the CVT
Interesting that the fuel economy ratings are almost identical...and the CVT has lower highway ratings than the manual?

Comparison between average mpg’s between Spark & Mirage from Fuelly

You should be able to pick up a manual Spark for near fire sale prices due to lack of sales unless fuel prices spike.

Based on data from 20 vehicles, 741 fuel-ups and 163,068 miles of driving, the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage gets a combined Avg MPG of 39.13 with a 0.45 MPG margin of error.

Based on data from 23 vehicles, 590 fuel-ups and 141,176 miles of driving, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark gets a combined Avg MPG of 35.21 with a 0.40 MPG margin of error

Chevy's reputation in quality is still pretty low. How much better is the new Spark from the older ones?

Kelly Blue Book is also saying the Spark is a bit less for cost to own for 5 years.

I loved the Spark when it first came out. I was really impressed. When the second gen came out (and you could get the Mint color), I loved it. I've been a member over at the Chevy Spark Forum for a while, and there are a lot of complaints about quality and reliability, FWIW. We went and looked at a '17 Spark before buying our Mirage, and the price difference was significant. We bought our Mirage brand new, out the door for $9,600 USD—far less than they'd let a Spark go for.

That being said, my mother in law has a 1LT and it's been great for her. I still like the looks.

For what it's worth, the Canadian media in reviewing the Mirage/Spark/Micra trio seemed to give the nod to the Spark in more than a couple of comparisons based on its refinement vs. the other cars. (Guess where the Mirage ranked of the 3.) Also, it's got more toys and more airbags.

In Canada, those 3 cars compete for "cheapest new car", with base models all starting below $10k (though the Mirage only gets there thanks to the perma-rebate on its higher MSRP).

I've yet to drive one, but I'd like to.

Also keep in mind - the Spark only has 4 seats.

The mirage pretty much only has four seats too lol. And with 2 car seats it has about 10in in the middle.
