Agreed. Seems to be a narrower gauge than other cars. I think the breadboard jumper wires for my Arduino are as thick.

Nice going - I has suspected something like this would be the culprit.

Any pictures? It would be good to see what happened.

Do you suppose this could be related to your engine swap?

Sometimes, smaller is better - and I don't mean just saving weight. Smaller wires tend to flex better, depending on the application. So long as it is capable of delivering the power necessary at the other end without loss of power or risk of overheating. Depending on the insulation type, conductor material, number of strands and in communicating circuits number of twists per foot/meter...

I didnt get any pics unfortunately
It could have been from the swap. Although the mivec thing has been broken since 60k and I didnt do the swap until 125k. That wire was in 2 pieces.

Wow good job finding the problem yourself. Problems from corroded wires are usually the toughest to find

I wouldnt have found it if it werent for the oscope. It would look fine then flatline. But if you werent in the right range it would look like it was working correctly. I just need to get better with an oscope and I would have found this a month ago.
