Unbelievably useful, safe and functional. I wish all cars had 'em. I love it (if you can't tell). You don't have to take your eyes off the road, it's friggin awesome!! The 'Vette had like 5-6 different display configurations and would display: speed, RPM, lateral g-forces and maybe 1 or 2 other things.

As much as I hate people who text and drive - a heads-up would improve the "safety" level of this deplorable, egregious practice considerably.

You could actually read a text in a somewhat safe(r) manner with a HUD.

But I think my HUD opinion is in the smallest minority. I know Pontiac offered a digital speedometer HUD on their late 80's cars (the GrandPrix for certain, an uncle had one) but IIRC, the public was 'distracted' by it and it was a flop... Thinking about that now is hilarious: distracted by seeing your speed projected on the windshield in front of you, how quaint... Now we just text, email and other sh*t (on our phones!!) when we want to be distracted while driving, lol.

Wish this was a 'standard' on ALL cars, like: turn indicators, brake-lights, windshields, you know - important safety stuff, lol.

I wish MPG was part of the HUD display. (SURPRISE!) I was actually thinking about it just last week.
