it doesnt matter to me as long as it takes me from point A to B. not unless you are always on a fast lane and wants to race with yourself then get a fast car lolz. cruisin is the best way to enjoy nature and your sorroundings! so 74hp i think is enough.

I havn't been around for a while...The car gets excellent fuel economy at the expense of acceleration/power, keeping the car below 3,000 rpm its slow and I typically have to move from the left to the right lane so other can pass me. Adding a turbo could easily add 30 HP and improve acceleration/Power. After driving mirages for 15 months - I would appreciate more POWER

The mirage is plenty fast. I wonder if the people who say it's slow, are shifting it like my wife was? I found out that she was shifting into a higher gear at 1500-2000 rpm... causing the car to shake and make unhappy noises. I had to give her a little training. "Spin the engine, you won't hurt it".
I rarely get over 4,000 rpm myself. And usually skip 4th gear. And I find myself trying hard to keep the little car under 75 mph on the highway.

I believe it's 'just' enough. Having the 5 speed manual trans, you can get it to scoot to 40mph on roads pretty quickly without doing insane revs.
Entering the highway isn't bad compared to other cars I've been in. Giving it some gas to accelerate, while on the highway, it isn't too bad as well. going from 60 to 70 mph isn't as bad as it is in a Prius, in my opinion. This is not a Lancer Evolution/WRX Sti type of car. You can not compare this car to a turbocharged or high power V6/V8 equipped car but this car is good for what it is. If you're expecting it have the acceleration of sports car, you're looking at the wrong car.
For me, 70hp isn't bad. It's more than enough on small neighborhoods and the commute to work. I'm not racing anyone going to work so why would I need that 'speed'?
