My defrost kicks more ass than Steven Segal. The G4 too, even with a crimp pipe on the heater core.
FWIW: just bought digital thermometer at harbor freight and checked passenger and driver vents. 139-140 degrees F at both on 2017 G4 with 29K miles. Will continue to monitor this winter.

If you're going to test for a restricted heater core, you need to establish some consistent test conditions.
Here's an excerpt from the unofficial TSB I wrote for the problem...
See my test results in this post. I literally drove around all last winter with temperature probes coming out of my vents.
