Currently have 3 vehicles:
2014 Mirage
2014 TT (wife's dream car)
2022 Honda Passport
Ideally, the wife (25miles round trip) or I (10 miles round trip) use the Mirage for driving to work. She claims she's okay driving the mirage if it's not raining, though all week she's been driving her car.
It would be ideal to have the mirage another 5 years. By that time the Passport would be paid off and maybe we can get another cheap 'around town/daily drive' vehicle. If we have a kid by then (likely), that cheaper vehicle may be a used CRV (eying mom's lol) or something similar. While ingress/egress is super easy on the mirage, I can't imagine any other small vehicle with the same awesome properties.
The ideal scenario is we keep the TT as long as possible. I don't have a dream car, but if I did, I'd want that vehicle in my garage as long as possible.
I plan on having the 2021 Mirage until it is no longer driveable. I will do all my own repairs maintenance and expect to get 300K if it does not get wrecked somehow. It is currently at 59,000 miles.
I completely agree.
I don't have the know how to do my maintenance or the space. Or even the space to keep the tools.
But I do have a 2 different trusted mechanics that I bring the car too for different things. Depending on who is cheaper.
My cousin will also help me with things that don't need to be done by a certified mechanic like the brakes.
I plan to keep mine as long as possible and milk everything I can out of the extended warranty.
cleadus - I want to say that, the basic maintenance, you certainly have the brains and ability to do. It can seem overwhelming the first time around. But subsequent iterations it becomes apparent how easy it is. However, I can understand the lack of space to do it.

10 months later since I got my 22’ G4 5 speed, it now has 6800 miles. I believe I have spent less miles driving compare to anyone else on this forum.
My G4 has been running well. It the best and most expensive purchase I have had ever gotten.
I ALWAYS get the temptation to trade that G4 in for something else better like 2017 Accord 6MT but in the end of the day, I tell myself that I am just making excuses for myself AND it just a depreciated asset designed to be result-oriented and reliable for DECADES.
I have a 2nd job therefore my participation here is far-below average, sorry guys.
Pretty much keeping mine till she's rusted out or the cost to fix it exceeds the value of it, its a 2022, bought it in June with 74 miles on it and as of today it has 14,450 trouble free miles on it, Already has a bunch of rock dings and a windshield chip (self repaired) from my 60 mile daily round drip on the highway that happens to have a lot of gravel trucks on it, And door dings from careless people in parking lots, :| Its not an amazing car, but i know itl start and drive when and where i need it very cheaply. Only thing im miffed about is maintenance, Id love to do the oil changes myself. But if i ever have an issue i need that paper trail showing proper servicing was done. Nearest dealer is an hr away and lube shops around here charge around $70-$90 for a quality (AMSOIL/Penzoil ultra platinum) oil change. I could do it for a quarter of the cost if done myself.

OK, just because I might be a P.Eng doesn't mean I know dick about maintaining a car. But I was overhauling engines and trannies (gearboxes, not the humans LOL) since age 12, the same year I started driving. I'd been riding motorbikes since about 9-10 years old. Maintaining a Mirage is easy. All the tools you need can easily store in the back and the worst DIY job, brakes, are not too difficult with help from here.
